Sky Sports News is reporting that Portsmouth have rejected Stoke’s £3m bid for Bosnian international Asmir Begovic.
Spurs had expected to unveil Begovic at the same time as Younas Kaboul. Stoke then stepped in at the last minute to offer the 22 year old goalkeeper guaranteed first team football and he rejected the chance to link up with former boss Harry Redknapp.
But Portsmouth are believed to have been unhappy at the conduct of Stoke and Begovic’s agent in scuppering the original deal with Spurs and have rejected Stoke’s offer for the player.
Reports in today’s press linking Tottenham with moves for Watford’s Scott Loach and Man Utd’s Ben Foster have proven to be wide of the mark. And Redknapp has made no secret of his desire to bring in a back up keeper this window.
With less than an hour and a half remaining until the window slams shut, Redknapp will have to move fast to seal this one.

yer i also heard muntari and veloso are coming in 3 years time =)
I hope it happens as he’s shown some real potential and would prefer him to Foster any day of the week. What with Gomes’ comments about going back to PSV and how much he loved it there he probably won’t have to wait too long anyway . . .
Ironic isn’t it Harry can nip in and take E, Gudjonsen from under the noses of West Ham, who had given the player a medical, and its OK apart from West Ham, but when Stoke do the same (it’s said) then its not in the spirit of the game, seems like double standards here, but then Harry is a law unto himself !
Begovic deal back off! Went to Stoke
