Various sources are indicating that Harry Redknapp is planning a last minute raid on Valencia for midfielder Manuel Fernandes.
Fernandes signed for Redknapp on loan at Portsmouth in 2006 having helped Benfica win the Portugese league the season before. The midfielder impressed but Redknapp elected not to make the loan move permanent after being scared off by a £12m fee.
Fernandes subsequently moved on loan to Everton before heading back to Benfica. He sealed a big money move to Valencia in 2008 and was expected to sign for Inter Milan this window but the move fell through due to the player failing a medical.
It is thought that any last minute deal would be on the basis of a loan to allow the player the chance to prove his fitness.

Along with an extra midfield general, I would have said we need an extra winger (cover for when Lennon is absent), but all of sudden Bale & Bentley came into life!

Oh yes. Damn. I forgot that we still don’t have cover for GOMES! I thought that Kaboul deal was part of a Begovic combined deal. Anything happens to GOMES then bye-bye 4th, 5th, 6th.
Begovic wants to play not be someones no.2, He should have come with Kaboul but Stoke came in at the last minute and Begovic said he didn`t want to go to Spurs. Really pissed Pompey off as well, they needed the cash desperatly.
Rumour has it that the Begovic deal is back on.
