Various national newspapers are today reporting that the Jermaine Jenas to Inter Milan move is back on.
According to The Times, any deal taking Jenas to the San Siro would involve Sulley Muntari heading in the opposite direction in a part exchange deal. No details have been released as to what sort of cash would change hands with both players commanding a similar value of around £10 million to £12 million.
No player has split opinion amongst Spurs fans more than Jermaine Jenas and you can take part in that debate here.
But what stuns us at Tottenham Blog is the apathy from sections of the Spurs faithful towards the potential arrival of Muntari.
Make no mistake, this is a top, top player. He played 24 matches under Jose Mourinho at Inter last season and scored some important goals from midfield. He’s adept at playing the disciplined holding position with his man mountain strength, bags of determination and biting tackling (as evidenced in the video above). Muntari is also swashbuckling in the box to box role, he’s got a hell of an engine, good passing both long and short and a beast of a shot.
In short, he’d be the perfect partner for Wilson and the perfect replacement should Palacios get injured. Exactly what the Spurs squad needs. But will Jose let him go?

Think it would be a great bit of business. We would have a very tough midfield and I agree with the sentiment
spot on bro
I think this would be a fantastic signing as at last we would have a midfield pair that have pace, strength, goal threat and
I’d take him over Jenas any day.
He would get so many bookings for us though, not cos he’s dirty but as our refs are blind and don’t know what a fair tackle is….
what a player!.Rednapp should pull out all the stops to get him.
He is easily as good as Palacios..arguably better.
go for it Harry! I told You about Negredo & Granero + Felipe Jenas out Muntari in. Back in Spain on 6th Sept. Keep You informed La Liga talent.
I like to see him make a telling pass – sure he can tackle and Jenas can’t but good midfielders tackle AND pass.
Tommyharmer, watch the video, some great passes towards the end
Transfer windows are gash. It should be back to how it was and you can buy whenever
Pompey fan here – I always wonder how we didn’t do a lot better in the league when we had Muntari & Diarra. Both were immense for us in 2008 but after the African Cup of Nations Muntari struggled to get any form and I think it could be the case again. Regardless, the boy knows how to tackle, he can spot a pass from a mile off and can strike a ball better than 9/10 of the strikers in the Premiership. If you get him, you WILL be a force this season.

I really think muntari and palacios will kill it for spurs especially if we play in 4-2-3-1 fromation! Our midfeild would be as good as chelsea’s and we wont get bullied by the likes or essien(If ghana ever play England in the world cup -Essien and Muntari will demolish Barry and Lampard!)Ballack and Mikel. However i dont think we need to send Jenas the other way because he is a good player especially if we want to keep a strong squad!!!
